(text taken from the Rick Frost & Jen Sherman - LIVE! press kit)

A collection of songs performed live - no bass, no drums, and no studio frills. The CD, is in effect, like being present at one of Rick and Jen's performances.

Rick Frost and Jen Sherman joined forces in 1995. They kicked off their musical adventure utilizing two used guitars and a Park practice amp. Six years later, they still use two used guitars and a Park practice amp. The only significant changes have been that their following has increased dramatically and that the Park amp has developed a short that leaves it inclined to tune in errant radio signals.

Referring to themselves as the "low-budget band", Frost and Sherman have displayed a penchant for appearing at benefits - often turning down gigs for pay, in order to play for free. Asked, "Why?" Rick Frost explains,  "Jen and I are in total agreement about the money thing. Money is, at best, a necessary evil, however, it is not, nor can it ever be, our first priority. Our first priority, or moral obligation if you prefer, is to provide food for thought, and to help out where we can."

The list of benefit appearances by Frost and Sherman serves to support the validity of their stated philosophy. Their appearances have included: Benefit for Brain Tumor Research, Roaring Brook Nature Center, Canton, CT; Benefit for Geoffrey Cameron (an infant heart surgery patient); Benefit for Leeway, a New Haven, CT based AIDS hospice; Benefit for WPKN; Citizens Action Network, March on Millstone, Waterford, CT; Citizens Action Network, March on Yankee Power, Brattleboro, VT; Benefit for Area Wildlife Associations Telethon, Haddam, CT; and Benefit for AIDS Research, Friends Coffee House, Westbrook, CT.

In addition to benefits, Frost and Sherman have been regular performers at a host of New England Coffee Houses and Clubs; they have performed live on Central CT State College's and Wesylan University's FM stations; appeared at New Haven's State Street Festival; were recently voted giglist.com's Band of the Month; and perform regularly at The Stony Creek Puppet Theater.
